Speaking of AI labor displacement, there are certainly signs it is happening, though we’ll need lots of other data to be sure. But the current labor participation rate is dropping fast and near a 50 year low.

The latest AI models score nearly 100% on work that requires financial rigor and accuracy. This is a far cry from the much weaker models of 24 months ago. While token costs can be an issue to achieve this, even this constraint will fall away soon. A labor displacement is coming.

I am noticing a significant and disturbing uptick in AI-based breaches. Some of them quite serious. And it’s probably going to increase quite a bit. Attacks attributed to AI-enabled adversaries rose 89% year-over-year says Crowdstrike. CIOs must yet again seriously uplevel their cyberdefenses.

Yes, parts of the Web are being rewritten for AI agents. But not enough of it. Yet it won’t matter. AI can use all of it. Just be ready for misuse, security issues, and bot clampdowns. But it’ll all sort out soon enough.

My take on humanoid robots: They are about to have a moment, but the tech is still not ready to go big for many reasons. From safety to messy real-world edge cases, still a lot to figure out. But we’re going to finally see them arrive at work and in homes in limited numbers.

Ultimately, the firm(s), or open source projects, that can make AI: - Compute efficient - Grounded (very low hallucinations) - Easily steerable towards goals - Safe - Reliable (follows guidelines consistently) Will win. It’s also the list of what it’ll take to make AI workable.

So, it’s now pretty clear that compute itself is rapidly becoming the next currency. What’s just as interesting, as I look at some of the most innovative and useful token routers, is that they will take other tokens (stable coins, etc) as payment. Paying for tokens with tokens.
