LibDems call for bold vision for Princes Street
The Edinburgh Liberal Democrat group of councillors in Edinburgh say they will propose a more ambitious design of Princes Street. The group believes that the plans put before councillors are "not nearly bold enough for a street we should all be proud of". The LibDems planning spokesperson, Cllr Hal Osler, said: "In the 18th and 19th Century, the New Town was designed with a sustainable future in mind. We need to do the same now for the city's growing needs. "Residents have made their ambition clear for Edinburgh and I am very grateful to everyone who's taken the time to engage on the future of our city centre."

resilience for future tram operations.

Keeping Management Panel oversight and
support while the Council ends its suspension
on new Council home lettings.

A much fairer funding uplift for arts and culture

The Edinburgh Liberal Democrat group has selected two candidates for the council by-elections in the Portobello/Craigmillar and Southside/Newington wards on 3 September. In Portobello/Craigmillar, homelessness charity CEO, Liss Owen, who lives locally, has been selected by members. Liss said: “The tide is turning in Portobello and across our ward. "Whether it's the beach cleans in Porty or the families and neighbours who make Bingham and Craigmillar such strong communities, people here deserve a councillor who shows up.
