Real progress comes from everyday actions; in how we collaborate, who we include, and whose voices are heard. Do you have any more tips or suggestions? Add them here! #WorldEarthDay #OurPowerOurPlanet #Geoscience #Inclusion #EDI #Sustainability #Representation

In geoscience, that power is closely linked to who is represented. The decisions we make about resources, energy, land, environment, and more are stronger when they reflect diverse perspectives, lived experiences, and local knowledge. 2/5

🌍 World Earth Day 2026 - Our Power, Our Planet This year’s World Earth Day theme reminds us that protecting our planet is not driven by a single decision or moment. It is shaped by the collective actions of people, communities, and sectors every day. 1/5

Elsie MacGill was the first woman in the world to earn a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering (1929). The "Queen of the Hurricanes" was a pioneering Canadian aircraft designer who led production of the Hawker Hurricane fighter planes during #WWII. She was born #OTD in 1905. #WomenInSTEM
