Hell, look at PC games! The indie boom stands against your point. Lethal Company is ugly as shit and people love it. I’d argue Undertale was more successful and influential than anything on the PS5. Meanwhile, modern Sony tends to be difficult for indie devs to work with.

If the success of the Switch compared to the PS5/SeriesX is anything to go by its that games absolutely do not need to define themselves by their technical prowess. Like I said I feel like we’ve reached a point where pushing for better graphics isn’t worth it and doesn’t make a big difference

Nintendo fan here. ARE people really asking for “extensive and opulent games?” Imo, we’ve hit a graphics ceiling where PS4 games don’t look that much different than PS5 games. That’s why so many games are released on both systems. Hell, ASTRO BOT won goty this year and it’s a silly lil platformer
