My artwork is in the latest Edge magazine, as part of an interview with the lovely @danthat.bsky.social
Artwork from the Limited Run edition of Lair of the clockwork God. The main characters (Ben and Dan) stand proud in front of a doorway of light with various creatures coming out of the doorway.

New Edge day, featuring a new career high interview from me as I got to sit down with the legendary Hideki Kamiya for almost 3 hours to discuss his 30-year spanning career as a pioneer of game design. Give it a read, it’s… Viewtiful

"Nights is an enigmatic game that the public might take to their hearts or might reject out of hand. Either way, it's not quite enough to be an all-time classic." Sega’s Nights into Dreams was released 30 years ago this week! It received a solid 8 from Edge, back in issue 36

I totally agree. I can't think of a single other game that tried *so* many new and pioneering things, and pulled them all off to such a high standard at the first attempt.

Yeah you're not wrong 😕 Ocarina of Time was the one for me. I felt as though I waited FOREVER for that game. It was definitely worth it, though (as was Mario 64, of course!)

Haha. And, I'm sure, the first time they pulled a handstand on a tree, the first time they surfed on that green shell, the first time a painting rippled, the first time they turned to metal, the first time they swung Bowser by the tail, the first time they saw that eel, the first time.......

That's incredible. I still vividly remember queuing in HMV to play the Mario 64 demo. People were waiting in line for ages, and then pretty much just running around in circles when they finally got their turn. Easy to forget just how revolutionary running around in circles felt in a game back then!

Probably the most deserved 10 of all time honestly. Not only trying a ton of stuff that had never been done before, on new hardware with a bunch of limitations, but also abundant in creativity and scope - AND still a reliably good time TODAY.
