Well there you go haha, maybe moment does have a use

Eden Tizard @edentizard.bsky.social · 09/07/2026

Also just a horrible sounding word moment, doesn’t convey any urgency or importance, just sort of stumbles out the mouth. I know most words sound like nonsense if you repeat them but I swear you only have to repeat moment three times for it to mean nothing

Not sure if Charli XCX has anything to do with it, though feel like it predates her by a good while and she uses it in a more tongue and cheek way.

Eden Tizard @edentizard.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Couldn’t believe that part when I read it haha, great book though. Think the more autobiographical parts are woven in so well and make for such gripping read. Really get a sense of what that cumulative energy building towards the end of the 80s felt like

Still In a Dream might be Simon Reynolds best yet. Think my favourite discovery is this gem of an album by Insides youtu.be/FXljIRnm1mg?...

Definitely best to stop haha, also by the looks of it the tiktok user is just some dubious clip farmer anyway who I don’t think is exactly due crediting

Eden Tizard @edentizard.bsky.social · 09/06/2026

Also it’s not my video, came up on my feed on tiktok

You don’t need to delete haha. I also hate Nick Land. Just find it bizarre all this stuff that I thought was proper fringe when I was younger now being talked about on a show made by a former Fox News host, and Land becoming a prophet for the likes of Musk and Thiel.

My girlfriend made an unfinished film with Damo Suzuki when she was about 19/20 where his character erected a stone monument just outside of Horwich - can be seen as a site of note on google maps - then shot on the Isle of Jura with him. Me and my mate Alex by the stone a few days ago

Remember once a bunch of us at uni (quietus writers) were watching a film with a young Tim Curry in it and realised he’s the proper doppelganger of @luketurner.bsky.social

Stacked release day with new ones from Wendy Eisenberg, Los Thuthanaka, Earl Sweatshirt & Mike, and Sunn o))). Not dug into the latter two yet but very excited. Wendy Eisenberg is serious aoty contender and Los Thuthanaka are one of the best bands/duos on earth rn

Fortunately not, all in his name and landlord wants everyone else to stay to avoid hassle of finding other people. He’s just fucked himself over this guy

Eden Tizard @edentizard.bsky.social · 28/03/2026

We just found out our lead tenant/lease holder who is in charge of sending the rent to our landlord didn’t send 17.5 grand over 18 months. Don’t know how it’s possible. Last time I asked a landlord if I could send half the rent two days late he said absolutely not

I walked past him at Glastonbury last year. Looked back to double check it was him and he was wearing an Alex James football top

Eden Tizard @edentizard.bsky.social · 14/03/2026

Not listened to this, will get it on shortly. Tbf I still like James’ early dubstep singles a lot

I’d never properly looked at the album art before but absolutely cackling at the contrasting drink selection

I am so excited to share this with you all! I spoke to Jim O’Rourke about EVERYTHING

Yeah grim isn’t it. Like those cash flooded American mega churches

Also a side note, but had to double check just now that it wasn’t the Mark Fisher who designed their claw stage

I knew some very vocal mums who were big fans when I was young, which might be a factor in how popular I perceived them to be. Remember seeing their concert films and finding it inconceivable how large the crowds were

REM is a very good shout, though feel like their 80s stuff has more enduring cult potential than U2’s. Still a far cry from how famous they once were

Eden Tizard @edentizard.bsky.social · 26/01/2026

Jay Z is an interesting one. Feel like younger people would sooner go to Biggie and Tupac than his 90s stuff, and for noughties Kanye over his stuff. Obvs still very popular and being with Beyoncé helps. Tastes in rap have changed a lot as well, will be interesting to see what happens over time

Are there any other instances of someone as big as them for as extended a time period as them where new interest almost completely dries up?

130

Eden Tizard @edentizard.bsky.social · 26/01/2026

As a child if you were to ask me who the biggest band in the world were I’d have said U2, but feel like their fame going forward isn’t really a guaranteed thing. Hard to picture any young people now listening to U2. Or a shift in the trend cycle where suddenly they’re trendy.

Also I only made it a week into the challenge myself, was told I had to listen to a whole Doves album and I wasn’t having it

Eden Tizard @edentizard.bsky.social · 09/01/2026

Some of the recent albums in the list are very baffling, and the omissions. A lot of the albums from the past ten years seem to be randomly selected Mercury Prize runner ups

Eden Tizard @edentizard.bsky.social · 09/01/2026

Yas and Gent have been doing this challenge for over a year now. You can click on the profiles of people who rated these albums low. It’s not Animal Collective fans tbf. It’s always just like, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits etc in their faves.

I was merciful on myself as it’s my first pair so went for a one wash instead of raw. Still unsanforized though, so more itchy than stiff. Apparently when broken in they feel like a weighted blanket but will have to see

Eden Tizard @edentizard.bsky.social · 30/12/2025

Wide leg and a low tension weave so a very wearable 20 oz

Eden Tizard @edentizard.bsky.social · 30/12/2025

My Xmas present was available for pick up today. I am now *one of those guys*. Don’t care though, texture on the jeans is crazy, looking forward to breaking them in. Gonna wear them till the heat prevents me

The film of Clifford The Big Red Dog is on at work. They’ve cast Jack Whitehall as an American man. Harder to buy into than Clifford The Big Red live action Dog.

You listened to the Flaming Tunes album of late?
