Apologies. Genuinely feel sorry for the Scots and Welsh caught up in the Anglo-British psychodrama. It won't get any better soon. Meaningful reform isn't possible until unionists confront the elephant in the room: England. And they won't do that for fear of upsetting the Union applecart.

When UK parliamentarians talk about England as 'the country' it is understandably divisive. Members of a multinational, union parliament should not refer to England as 'the country'. If you mean England, then just #SayEngland.

This is extraordinary. As Starmer says that one of his missions or milestones, or whatever they are, is 'Britain rebuilt with 1.5M new homes' his social media team flash up '1.5M new homes in England'. Making it look as if he doesn't know what policies are devolved and which reserved.

Absolutely agree. The claim that countless Westminster ministers, shadow ministers and civil servants are unaware that things like education, health etc are devolved is nonsensical. To speak of such things in a British narrative is not accidental or lazy but 100% deliberate Brit Nat politics.

There are some of us English who have spent 20 years telling politicians to #SayEngland when talking about England-only policy. Instead they prefer to refer to 'the country' or Britain. In my experience though, this isn't necessarily English exceptionalism or arrogance, it is British nationalism.
