Hearing aid update: I did not get new ears on Monday because my mum come out of hospital and I had to let her back into her house and get her settled, stocked up, etc. But Friday? It's scheduled for then, but we'll see what else can happen, shall we?

It's been amazing. Magical. Even hearing everything at once at a relatively high volume has been brilliant. I've just handed them back and I'm returned to a muffled world where I know I'm missing things. But in 10 days' time I will collect hearing aids of my very own. It's going to be so good!

A Big Thing has been going on in my life in the last week. (Aside from the ongoing bad parental health things, which we shall just take as standard to my life now.) I've been wearing hearing aids. I popped in to see a relatively new local audiology place a week ago, and I was demo ones to try.

Just looked out at the lawn behind our flats to see if there were any creatures of the night about. Saw a large cat in full loaf on the lawn while a fox rather nervously skittering around it. The cat moved not one inch from its spot. The fox got within a couple of feet of it and then backed off.
