The House of Representatives has worked 45 hours and 16 minutes in September. The Senate has worked 18 hours, 17 minutes, and 6 seconds. They would not qualify for SNAP or Medicaid based on their own imposed work requirements. And yet we continue to pay their $174K salary.

Wake up, babe. The Prime Minister just dropped “hydronym”.
The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io, which, appropriately, means “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big”.

The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.

We know that America is changing. Their trading relationships, their foreign policies, their national monuments, their hydronyms. 

Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario – then, now and always.

year 1: there's still grant funding, but we may need to change how we talk about our work, or what we work on year 2: the government has disappeared one billion dollars of science funding. it is unclear why they did that or where that sits within concepts like "the rule of law"

I need you to understand that as I send my Gen Z kid to college this year - her school experience started with Sandy Hook. Every time she changes school we discuss navigating school shootings. There was a school shooting when she was in her first year at high school. This is our children's normal.

Deadly fact: The smaller the particle, the easier it is to get across cellular barriers and do damage. PM2.5 (particulate matter < 2.5 micron) is fhe most hazardous. ISM dust is ~< 0.1 micron, and not something I would like to breathe in in real life.
