After a lovely bike-cation, I wrote up some reflections on using AI to prep teaching, reflecting on mine and Erkmen's Thinking with Agents teaching workshop last month. We are planning another in August - stay tuned!

Iterating with agents in teaching prep
A series of light project emergencies and need-to-get-on-my-bike emergencies delayed my posting of reflections on our very fun Agentic AI for Teaching workshop we ran last month.

New #ThinkingwithAgents Substack! I wrote about why Erkmen and I are running webinars about AI tools for economists. Short version: (1) "figuring out AI" doesn't have to be a summer-long project — try an afternoon (2) we want to bring in more voices to the econ/AI convo (3) it's fun to geek out!

My bit: who /actually/ benefits from these tools, why access question can't stop at R1s, and why changing how you work is harder than the tech itself. (Erkmen Aslim and I have Thinking with Agents webinars on research and teaching applications 10-12 EDT June 15 & 17: thinkingwithagents.github.io)

My partner and I were tired of the hand-wringing about trans kids playing sports when, at the end of the day, it's just. a. game. So, we wrote an op-ed :) Thanks, @usatoday.com! www.usatoday.com/story/opinio...

When just 28% of children meet recommended activity guidelines, promoting low-cost, low-stakes, inclusive sports participation can help all kids.

Awesome! I’m coming back from a JPAL MENA/IZA conference, and this trend (around women’s falling LFP) came up a lot - can’t wait to read :)

Also make sure you’re ready for the overall demand shock in your household economy. We let our then-5yo keep his research money from COVID-time child development studies and suddenly he was FLUSH WITH CASH and it got weird.
