I helped with registration at the Helsinki Worldcon, but saw the need for speed as members were queuing out the door, so stepped out from behind the desk and started queue-wrangling, which really speeded things up!

I’ve been attending conventions since 1980. For many years I just enjoyed them as provided to me, but I felt the I’d like to contribute too. I gophered at a few cons, was the gopher parent at another, and then started helping with green room, mostly at Satellites.

Today I booked my flights to @laworldcon.bsky.social — likely the last U.S. Worldcon for many years — plus bought a membership to @eastercon2027.org — so I can visit with those friends who wisely no longer find my country a welcome destination for international travelers.
