This whole soundtrack was a treat. Shōji Meguro evolving his earlier Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey orchestral style from apocalyptic to hopeful direction.

I never connected my LG C3 to the internet because I don’t trust them to write secure code. Turns out the malware comes straight from the factory. Hope the EU steps in at this point. So blatantly illegal.

Completely lost in this physical vs digital noise -- what about us who do not have a Japanese PSN account? I don't want to lie about having a Japanese address on the signup form. I'm playing games to learn the language. This is only possible thanks to physical media and the amazing 中古 stores in 🇯🇵.

- Cancel your PS Plus - Buy *only* physical and *only* second-hand so Sony doesn't get a dime more. Support your local game store. - Play your existing backlog! You don't need to buy games on release. - Long term, move to PC for digital and Switch for physical #Sony #PlayStation #PatientGamer

Sony is becoming a rental platform. Cancel your subscriptions, the suits at the top do *not* give a single shit about anything else than money. Spend it on platforms lead by people who actually play and make games.

Cancellation of PlayStation Plus subscription.

Aku Kotkavuo @eagleflow.fi · 08/07/2026

Closing the PS3 and PS Vita stores will make physical games for those systems jump up in price. You still have a small window of acquiring the games you care about for less than extortionate prices in the second-hand market.

010

Aku Kotkavuo @eagleflow.fi · 08/07/2026

I don't think Sony will walk back their decision to kill physical games. As long as the suits are in power Sony and Microsoft will continue to be harmful to games. Incredible brand destruction for both. Valve's and Nintendo's leadership actually plays games. Those are my platforms from now on.

Nintendo 3DS & Wii U store closure chased me away from digital. My Wii-era Virtual Console library did not move with me, despite paying for Wii U upgrades — instead Nintendo now charges a subscription to access games I’ve already bought. Sony is tracking these steps to become a rental platform.

000

Aku Kotkavuo @eagleflow.fi · 01/07/2026

RIP physical games. PS6 will complete the transformation to a rental platform, where you pay a subscription fee to access games you've already bought. I honestly hope EU regulators will make the storefronts change their store text to 'Rent' or 'License' instead of 'Buy' or 'Purchase'.

Microsoft losing the plot to the extent that games running on Linux through a compatibility layer are now not only faster but *assumed to be faster* than games running natively on Windows should be an even bigger story than it already is

For gaming, Microsoft views steamOS as the benchmark, and is working to optimize the platform so that steamOS and Windows gaming performance are comparable. Within the next year or two, it believes that Windows will be able to truly compete head-to-head with steamOS in gaming performance on identical hardware due to foundational changes that are being made to the platform in the coming months.

Death Stranding 2 is most rewarding when you set out far outside the chiral network and find places way before you’re supposed to. Conserving battery for long pioneering expeditions is fun. You can get far with just cryptobiotes. #deathstranding #デススト

Got stick drift with my less than a year old PS5 DualSense controller. Made playing Death Stranding 2 pretty maddening. First time for me to carefully take the controller apart and deep clean it. Seems to have fixed it… for now at least. DS2 is absolutely supposed to be played with a DualSense.

Shutting down Bluepoint makes close to zero sense from the outside. On PS5 launch Demon's Souls was *the* reason to buy the console. I hope one day we will get to hear what made Sony toss Bloodborne aside. It *has* to be some pretty bad blood between FromSoftware and Sony at this point.

The best narrative-driven CRPG in the last 25 years. They grew up on the same games I did 80 kilometers to the north in Finland. I first visited Tallinn in 1994 when the ghost of the Soviet Republic was still soaked in there deep. Impossible to not feel that connection with this game.
