Vocês estão sabendo da campanha racista da Converse? Não tem como não associar a imagem a capuz da Ku Klux Klan e um corpo pendurado. Estrategicamente pensado. É revoltante.
Post no X: No, you're not crazy.
Yes, the Converse ad is racist.
Yes, it looks like a Klan outfit.
Yes, it looks like a lynching.
And no, "it's just a shoe ad" is not a defense.foto de uma roupa branca comprida, com uma luz que acentua o formato de um capuz branco da KKK, um par de Tênis pendurado na mão com pouca luminosidade, que à primeira vista dá a impressão de ser uma pessoa morta pendurada, enforcada pela Ku Klux Klan

India’s 'Freebie' Politics May Have Reached America
Trump’s $5,000 “dividend” to Americans if Republicans retain Congress sounds outrageous in the U.S. But across the developing democratic world, election-time cash and freebies have long been entrenched in politics. India offers a cautionary precedent.

Americans hear "51st state" as Trump trolling. Canadians hear it as an existential threat to their sovereignty. That gap in perception is why Carney can't afford to look conciliatory, even if the economics of retaliation don't add up. This isn't just a trade war anymore.

"Nearly every speech at the Texas State Republican Convention in June included some expression of anti-Muslim sentiment." The thing about anti-Muslim attacks in Texas and elsewhere is that there is no precipitating event. It's not a post 9/11 era response. It's just a search for another enemy.
For many conservative voters in Texas, Islam has replaced the border as a major concern since early last year, Republican consultants have said. Anti-Muslim activists and hard-right candidates have increasingly described Islam as incompatible with American values. They warn that the United States could soon look like Europe, where Muslim populations are larger.
