All of this has happened before, and all of it will happen again. (A journal comic from 10 yrs ago that I'm reliving today)

Panel 1: 9am - a bearded guy, excited, saying "I'm goin gto get to much done today!"
Panel 2: 10 AM - his face contorted in pain, "Headache! @#*!!!"
Panel 3: 11 AM - he's eating, fork in the air, "Food! It took care of the headache. I'm going to get so much done today!"
Panel 4: 11:30 AM - FOOD COMA. He drops limply out of frame, "zzzzzzz"
Panel 5: 6:59 PM - AWAKE! He jolts upward, awake, groggy, drooling, with bedhead.
Panel 6: 7 PM - looking at a clock on the wall, disappointed, "Son of a..."

I’m really happy to be making comics again. It took me a while to find my way back. Exercise and Stoicism helped save me, and while I’m still a work in progress, I’m not the same man I was two months ago. Feels good to be back in the panels.

So, I’m bringing Spider Barks back. I don’t know exactly where this version of Spider Barks is going yet. And honestly, I’m okay with that. But I’m drawing, and I’m making comics. And that feels damn good!

Eventually, I started drawing again. I made comics to process what I was going through, to get some of it out of my head, and most importantly, to get myself drawing again. And somewhere along the way, I remembered something pretty simple: I still fucking love making comics.

I was devastated, and for a while, I lost the motivation to do much of anything—let alone make comics. I had to put my long-form webcomic, Cabrón, on indefinite hold and start picking up the pieces.

A lot happened in a very short amount of time. Work stress, a forced move out of a workspace I loved, some heavy personal losses, and ultimately the end of an eight-year relationship with a woman I love dearly.
