I don't know that it makes him presidential material but Ossoff's ability to just be honest about how much of a pile of shit these people really are should be a model to the party.

I think Ossoff captures something that Newsom never did: the Dem base wants you to fight but they want real shit not goofy memes and too-online riffs

Yeah this is the outcome I was hoping for as well. I don't think anyone will show, but I might drop by later just to see who did.

Would you believe that a local tech bro is giving a talk about the "wonders of AI" (not an exact quote) tonight and expects young people and progressives to show up and agree with his presentation? He personally invited me to this...

You're 100% correct here. And it's likely going to end with bailouts and corporate welfare while the rest of us get stuck with the bill.

The unspoken part is "so we're going to be massively increasing the cost of everything to pay for the enshittification of everthing, and then some." That is literally the only way AI slop / invasive creepervine placement is going away - if they stop burning investor money and get profitable.

The most indebted corporations in America right now are, at their core, computer virus companies. They think the computer viruses are their girlfriends, so they think this absolves them of guilt. Let's find out!

Another bug in the human brain: you surround someone with something and they'll quickly decide that's what's normal (even if the voices are fake, even if you KNOW they're fake).

Kids are saying slurs that they didn't ten years ago. The normalization and amplification of online hate played a part in this.

To build on this, It's vital to understand that the right used "liberal free speech values" as a wedge between left and centrist dems. They objective was to disrupt social progress and maintain white supremacy. Ask yourself about the wisdom of the liberals who couldn't see this coming

I am tired of dipshits repeating "AI isn't going away" as if that was an argument as to the necessity of the technology or the ethics of its use.

An important bit of immigration law which is relevant here; there is already a waiver process — Section 212(k) of the INA — by which immigrants who obtain status through fraud that they didn't know about can avoid consequences like losing a green card. So this is *even weaker* than it already seems.

Nearly every tech guy I know likes AI because they're used to seeing technology a toy that'll make them more powerful and they don't really care if it harms somebody else.

Digger is good actually. And also... the negative response from critics (many of which are working for billionaire owned media companies) is maybe a little suspect? It's not a bad film whatsoever.
