Played a bit of the FF Resonance demo last night and firstly, that game is gorgeous. But also really enjoyed the short time I’ve spent so far. I’m unfamiliar with BE, but it seems like they’ve done a good job reinventing the systems to feel nice and their own. No gatcha stink on it.

Haven’t been to the LCS in a couple weeks and really looking forward to picking the books I’ve missed up. Really been enjoying a lot of the stuff coming out right now. Zdarsky’s Avengers event has been a lot of fun and the Fraction Batman stuff has been excellent and Bad Seeds is cool.

One of the weirdest criticisms I’ve seen about the Wolverine game is about how the characters are written. More specifically that they “don’t understand” the characters because they are different than their 616 counterparts. But what does that even mean?

Honestly, still kinda excited for Wolverine. I do wonder if it truly will be a swan song for this style of game. Even though I still largely enjoy the design language in these types of games, I certainly would not miss it. There’s just infinitely more interesting things you can do in the space.

I’m not really sure who the MCU is for anymore. Doomsday seems to simply be a film about going WHOA ITS THAT CHARACTER I LIKE! Do people even like that anymore? Like that was kinda cool for a bit I guess but it’s no longer a novel idea so it’s weird that it’s leaning into that again.

That new onimusha demo is pretty fun. Feels like a more hack-n-slashy take on the Sekiro formula and that really worked for me. I’ve never checked the series out but this one’s definitely piqued my interest.

Debating the Question (are video games art?) is entirely pointless and does very little in criticizing the medium or a specific piece. If you want to treat games as art, critique them as such. “THIS GAME PROVES MY POSITION” is useless and not an actual piece of criticism or even introspection
