5/ Bottom line: while the gut barrier is complex and important, “leaky gut syndrome” isn’t a recognized diagnosis. If you have ongoing digestive or unexplained symptoms, the best step is to talk with a clinician who can look for evidence-based causes. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...

4/ Symptoms blamed on leaky gut like bloating, fatigue, headaches, or brain fog are very common and can occur in many different conditions, so they’re not specific enough to diagnose a single problem. There’s also no approved test and no proven diet, supplement, or cleanse that can “fix” leaky gut.

3/ ‼️Why does that matter? Because peer review adds a layer of careful thinking and shared responsibility. It’s not a perfect system, but it’s a strong filter. It helps catch mistakes, weak evidence, or overconfident claims before research reaches the public.

1/ 💡What does it mean when a study is peer-reviewed? When scientists say a study is “peer reviewed,” we mean others in the same field have read it carefully before it was published. They check the methods, the data, and the conclusions.
