Children of the Corn: Runaway. This franchise has had many child actors doing uneven jobs of portraying Kid Ain't Right creepy affect; the girl in this one nails it.

Children of the Corn: Genesis. Easy choice: what happens to the cop is hilarious.

Children of the Corn (2009) - good on this one for casting a bunch of kid extras so there was actual flock of them.

I have been playing Spider-Man 2 which is a fun time but the relentless commitment to the bit of handful of characters in your ear without a break between is too real in the best way. I need to sweep these mines.

Children of the Corn (7): Revelation. "I do not believe that your grandmother was abducted by hyper-religious kids, sorry." Also either impressive self-control or unforced error to not include something like "Condominium? More like CORN DOMINION!"

Adding to and reinforcing: unspoken learning that the same information can vary in nuance from tone and delivery from one reading to the next, and those nuances can be intentional. There's deeper reasons young kids like the same material read to them repeatedly over different days!

Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return: exclaiming "what is WITH all these DEAD BIRDS?!" sounding much more exasperated than afraid. Then apparently getting embarrassed at hallucinating them and never doing that again.

Children of the Corn IV: the Gathering: I get that supplying a clinic has challenges and you probably got a good deal, but getting the gurneys with guillotine blades built into them is just asking for the end you got.

Children of the Corn II: the Final Sacrifice: do not attempt to shelter under your house if your house is up on hydraulic jacks because those kids are definitely going to Wicked Witch you with it. On the upside, you will get to keep your shoes. They're not savages, just faithful in their own way.

Important thread for non-posterity: the best moments from each Children of the Corn movie. Children of the Corn (1984): if you hit a kid in the Nebraska road that you rationalize you don't need to feel too bad about because "he was dead already" be sure to throw the body in the trunk.

There are eleven of those movies. I don't pretend to understand how, but there are. My stupidest project this month is watching them all. So far I have discovered that it only took till the fourth movie to no longer commit to a We Have The Omen Score At Home mood music, which is disappointing.

Much dunking on this for the main ingredients, but the little spice I appreciate is the Ted Lasso BELIEVE sign. In the show, part of its Live Laugh Love level inspiration is that the team literally had to reach above themselves to touch it, so making sure to put it below eye level is fitting here.

This should be so obvious that it doesn’t need to be said, but given what kind of weekend it’s been on here, apparently it does: If you don’t want old rapists running the world, in office, in the board room, making decisions for all of us get comfortable with “ruining” young rapists’ lives

Understandable why you explained the flow of the wonderful copyright strike process, but it would have been valid to instead have spent the last 90 seconds just blinking silently after the reveal of your terrible theft of IP.

Peter Jackson's classic film (may it echo in eternity) Braindead aka Dead Alive is why I know Wellington (home of the Wellington Ladies' Welfare League) and New Town (where New Zealand zoo officials take sumatran rat monekys, and probably shouldn't have.)

The family ahead of the rest of us milling about waiting our turn at Walgreens yesterday clearly brought in their young child to be tortured to death. (Upon exit from The Jabbing Room, young child was revealed to still be alive, but grumpy. I just got the arm-mildly-sore-today experience instead!

Look at the absolute fuckery of authors trying to get compensation in the Anthropic suit. When, not if, US media starts deleting vast swathes of archives, it'll give the runaround to fucking *everyone*. It'll take years to figure out.

Another year where I'm angry at the abject failure of moviemakers to realize that what the Halloween series needs is a prequel to 3 that's a supernatural heist movie all about how the witches stole Stonehenge.

The best model jet in my 12 year old self's model collection was the F-106 Dart, a speedy interceptor that had a goddamned nuclear warhead intended for air to air use in its rotating belly compartment. When I get power and immediately revert to 12, I will demand its recommission.

I don't think official style guides recommend yet that if one's going to use the term misandry they also work variants of the phrase "crushed by the stiletto heels of the gynocracy" into their writing, and that's a shame.

Hard cut to Bob Newhart's corpse sitting up suddenly next to Suzanne Pleshette's corpse and exclaiming "thank goodness, it was only a SCREAM, boys and ghouls!" and ending on cackling. The Russos further explained this will be done very tastefully and respectfully and was cleared with their estates.

Yup. I also find it gross to play the "just trying to win <insert state here>" shit because what I'm tired of isn't left right or whatever what I'm tired of is people running for office to follow and not lead. 'I'll go where the wind blows'. I can't vote for that anymore. Principles matter.
