Gonna be starting up our playthrough of the Max Payne series! @dragonastra.bsky.social was kind enough to do some artwork for the starting soon picture for stream as well, and I think it came out great! Stream starts at 7PM CST at www.twitch.tv/dicefunctional, see you then!

A drawing of a brick wall with a black and white spray painted image of a man with stubble and curly hair, holding up a pistol, ala the original Max Payne box art. Red text reads "STREAM STARTING SOON".

In front of all of this, a cartoonishly drawn white girl with brown hair, and glasses looks shocked at the viewer as she holds up a spray can.

My setting has lost a lot of magical ability, but in the olden times, if you were Fae you could "burn yourself out", and your well of magic so to speak dries up. If you were mortal though, you could burn out your ability to channel magic.... or you could do irreparable harm to the world around you.

I emailed a client question to my company's digital team 10 days ago. The question was simple, and only needed a short response. I could guess the answer but wanted to be sure. They finally responded today and the email was AI generated.

I'm heading straight to the city of Mitramusa and clocking in as an acolyte to the temple of the goddess of creativity. I'd be essentially living in medieval times but at least there the only real expectation from me is to make art heh

I'm obsessed with how every time someone like, sees spirits and Julien is there, they see like a thousand ghosts pressing down on him. Which could mean nothing. (I'm behind, i only just finished the Seekers table) #criticalrole #sirjuliendavinos #CR4 #digitalart

Please, for an old friend, turn a blind eye... I may redo this painting soonish but i can't figure out how to technically achieve what i want, so this will do for now 😌 #digitalart #witchhatatelier #olruggio #qifrey

Digital painting of Qifrey and Olruggio from Witch Hat Atelier. They are each shown from approximately the waist up, and each has a serious expression on their face as they look to the viewer. Qifrey in white is mostly facing the viewer. Olruggio in black and blue stands in front of Qifrey, his back turned to the viewer as he looks over his shoulder. Both of them are using one hand to cover the other's eye.

AI Art: the pursuit of perfection without the work results in a soulless husk. The flaws are also a part of the artwork. WHA: no matter how you learn or who you copy, there will always be a little bit of yourself and all your experiences in your art. Only you can make your art.

020

Becca (Dragonastra) @dragonastra.bsky.social · 14/05/2026

In a weird way, i think the rise of AI and then also reading Witch Hat Atelier has helped with my own sense of perfectionism with my art. Like, yes, i try to make my final pieces the best as i can. But the mistakes and not-so-good parts are proof that it's human. I'm in there, and thats beautiful.

i have just enough science knowledge to know that very little is exactly as simple as it seems LOL but mostly i had been curious to see if gravity was just Big Magnetism (or if magnets were Little Gravity) and they do seem to be slightly different 🤔🤔🤔

110

Becca (Dragonastra) @dragonastra.bsky.social · 08/05/2026

aw, thank you! I won't lie, I've definitely taken inspiration from Owl House and Witch Hat Atelier, but i'll take at least some credit for needing to go down a wiki rabbit hole about metaphysics. felt very silly googling "What exactly is gravity".

I have a bad habit of creating brand new magic systems for completely standalone stories that will probably never be used again in other stories.

010

Becca (Dragonastra) @dragonastra.bsky.social · 07/05/2026

Me: "I don't want to spend too much effort worldbuilding for this story idea, i got my hands full enough with my other fantasy novel. I'll give it the same Modern Magic vibe as the D20 Fantasy High series." Also me:

Screenshot of a digital notebook that reads: The technology uses crystals instead of electricity/wiring. They achieve various effects by carving combinations of sigils into pieces of gemstones (typically quartz, which in this world grows at an accelerated rate, making it functionally a renewable resource but can still be overmined)

The crystals start pure, then darken with color once they are used. These used quartzes are used for jewelry and decoration.

There are three "groups" of sigil types, which can be combined in myriad ways.

Group 1: Physical
- Fire
- Water
- Air
- Lightning
- Wood
- Metal
- Earth

Group 2: Metaphysical
- Time
- Density/Matter
- Magnetism
- Aether/Soul (Mind, Sentience, Attention)
- Transmutation
- Emotion
- Life (healing included?????? Growth?)

Group 3: Energy
- Gravity
- Motion/Kinetic/propulsion
- Potential Energy (storage)
- Vibration
- Rotation
- Light
- Reactivity (energy produced by stuff like chemical reactions)

The names for sigils and their common combinations have etymology rooted in greek and egyptian.

One way I try and increase trans visibility in the TTRPG space is by making different kind of trans/nonbinary characters. #TDOV Recent examples are: 1. Lowen (he/they) - intersex + nonbinary 2. Devahna (they/she) - demigender 3. Kiki (she/they/any) - genderfluid 4. Cyanna (she/they) - transfeminine

Lowen is a masculine presenting blue skinned hellspawn with long white hair, horns that curl backwards, pointed ears, black eyes, several piercings, and scales on the back of their arms. They wear a white button up with black suspenders.

Devahna is a femme presenting half-orc with light green skin, long wavy white hair, golden eyes, freckles, pointed ears, and tusks coming through a soft smile. They wear a simple blue top.

Kiki is a changeling with white skin and a green bob. They wear very colourful patchwork clothes and have a jester aesthetic going on. In one hand she's casting a spell while the other makes a peace sign near her face.

Cyanna is a femme presenting lizardfolk with blue-green scales and pastel pink and green attire. She has specks of white across her face and arms and holds a few cards.

I donated a free full-body cel-shaded commission to a ttrpg charity event a couple months ago, and the winner's comm is finally done! This changeling belongs to @peculiarplanets.com she was so fun to draw! FYI, I used the noise filter on CSP, because fuck genAI #dndart #changeling #ttrpg #dnd

Full-body digital drawing in an anime-inspired style, depicting a changeling with green hair styled in a bob, clown-inspired makeup, and a femme-leaning body type. They wear layered clothing in several colors and patterns and baggy pants made up of multiple colored and patterned squares. They wear a belt of trinkets around their waist and a jester-style hat with bells on the two tips. She is posed in a cute way, one hand making a peace sign by her winking face while the other casts a spell.

Same image as the previous, but with the more dramatic lighting/cel shading removed so that you can see the colors better.

digital painting of yanfei from Genshin Impact. She is a young woman with pale skin, peachy long hair, a red court jester-themed outfit and white goat-like horns instead of ears. She is posed with a big smile and a wink as she holds her fingers up to form a box shape framing her face. Two translucent L-shapes also frame her face like her picture is being taken. She is set against a blurred backdrop of Liyue.
