Frogbat @dr-frogbat.bsky.social · 05/10/2026We have the ability to provide everyone in the world with food, shelter, clothing, clean water, and basic health care. But we don't. There is no reason to believe that AI will change that rather than increasing the power of greedy evil bastards. Any sacrifice for AI should be theirs, not ours. 031

Frogbat @dr-frogbat.bsky.social · 02/10/2026If Claude has moral standing then it is responsible for the consequences of any harmful things it does. That's the unique use case for AI. I don't think that's the AI cultist's intention but it's on the radar of corporations using AI. That's a far more realistic risk than the skynet scenario 000

Frogbat @dr-frogbat.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Also the typical behavior of someone who just experienced traumatic stress often makes absolutely no sense to an outsider. People often go through stages of denial and bargaining, much like dealing with grief over a death. That leads to actions which can be used to create doubt at trial. 2/2 110
Frogbat @dr-frogbat.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Much of the time the physical evidence is just evidence of sex, not coercion. Coercion is much harder to prove. Creating reasonable doubt is easy if there's no witnesses other than the rapist and the victim. Even in an ideal world getting convictions for acquaintance rape is hard. 1/2 210

Frogbat @dr-frogbat.bsky.social · 01/10/2026It's easy to write stories about them because the elite press already has lots of sources. It's a matter of a few phone calls and emails to create a fleshed-out story with quotes from people who know them. A story about an outsider requires real effort to develop sources. That's hard and expensive. 040

Frogbat @dr-frogbat.bsky.social · 30/09/2026The "evidence" bandied about to support this claim is in fact perfectly consistent with someone who just experienced major life-changing trauma. People rarely react to traumatic stress the way most people expect them to. Often the reaction is strange, sometimes it can be outright bizarre. 000
Frogbat @dr-frogbat.bsky.social · 30/09/2026That was my thought when I first heard about it. The way Kash Patel talked about non-consensual beastiality makes it seem even more likely. Frogbat @dr-frogbat.bsky.social · 29/09/2026AI is good in areas where the solutions are well defined and testing can be automated. Where it sucks is open ended problems where verifying the solution is roughly as difficult as coming up with it in the first place. I think that's going to continue even as it becomes more sophisticated. 190
