Forgotten Island (10/10) Yeah, I cried more than once during this film. It's hard to write friendships that don't feel like they're just tolerating one another, but that's exactly how Jo and Raissa feel: BFFs in the truest sense of the word.

I'm tired of people saying Forgotten Island is flopping because of "bad marketing" or that "people don't care about Pinoy mythology." The fact that this movie is currently doing poorly hurts my heart because in my very Pinoy area, the theater was PACKED.

A screenshot from Forgotten Island where Raissa jumps at a shattering memory of her younger self and her best friend Jo.

If I had a nickel for every character I liked who had dark skin, minty-colored hair, no nose, and deserved better friends, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice

In 2015, an anonymous member within The Academy would write an extremely xenophobic comment towards The Tale of Princess Kaguya when casting their vote for Best Animated Film. Then a year later, The Academy offered the film’s director, Isao Takahata, to become a member; to which he rejected.

? BEST ANIMATED FEATURE

I only watch the ones that my kid wants to see, so I didn't see [The] Boxtrolls but I saw Big Hero 6 and I saw [How to Train Your] Dragon [2].
We both connected to Big Hero 6 - I just found it to be more satisfying. The biggest snub for me was Chris Miller and Phil Lord not getting in for [The] Lego [Movie]. When a movie is that successful and culturally hits all the right chords and does that kind of box-office - for that movie not to be in over these two obscure freakin' Chinese fuckin' things that nobody ever freakin' saw [an apparent reference to the Japanese film The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, as well as the Irish film Song of the Sea]? That is my biggest bitch. Most people didn't even know what they were! How does that happen? That, to me, is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

Btw this is that new Disney character Billie Doe, originally she had a longer face and I miss it. A lotta the Filipino cultural elements were taken out too which sucked.

a rough flat color version of the drawing of Billie, her skin is a light brown and her eyes are maroon, matching her hair that is a mix of brown. She's looking at the viewer in shock like she got caught. The highlights on her eyes making an exclamation point

Silly Hexed (a movie I think will be pretty good!) x Owl House (I show I love!) comic :) Peace and love in the world ✌️😝 #Hexed #TOH #TheOwlHouse #fanart

A four panel comic!

Panel one: Billie Doe from Hexed is walking into a room, holding a notepad with the light glyph from the Owl House drawn on the page. "Check it out Luz, I've been practicing those glyphs you showed me! Do you think these'll work in Hexe like they do in the Boiling Isles?"

Panel two: Billie's face is suddenly deep red and her eyes are wide.

Panel three: Turns out, Billie walked in on Luz and Amity smooching. "I'll um, come back later..." she says a little embarrassed.

Panel four: Billie thinks to herself, "Man, I sure hope I get a cute witch gf when my movie comes out..."

I don’t think there’s a movie that perfectly blends Halloween and Christmas well into one film than The Nightmare Before Christmas. And after many rewatches, watching it on the big screen for the first time can finally cross off my bucket list. :) And in 3D on cherry on top!

Also, so far, and another proof, Disney hasn’t plastered the current(the 100 years one) castle logo over the 2006 logo with this and the re-releases of Toy Story and Cars! Meaning that I finally saw this beautiful logo in 3D in theaters in almost a decade! Again, sorry for the blurriness.

And yes, the same 3D version back in 2006 when Disney officially made NBC under their name after using the Touchstone banner on its initial 1993 and VHS release. Here’s proof! Sorry for bit of the blurriness.

It really is insane how many timelines the Halloween franchise has. 5 in total, if you count the standalone, separate-from-Michael-Myers third film as a timeline. This franchise is weird lol

A chart showing the timelines of the Halloween franchise.

Thorn Timeline: 1, 2, and 4-6
Anthology “Timeline”: 3
H20 Timeline: 1, 2, H20, Resurrection
Zombie Timeline: Halloween ‘07, Halloween II ‘09
Blumhouse Timeline: Halloween ‘78, Halloween ‘18, Kills, Ends

Just got back from seeing “The Forgotten Island”. Might be my favorite film of the year. Fun, beautiful, original, heartfelt.. Definitely worth seeing in a theater. Lotta laughs n tears, and some of the best, most diverse n dynamic CG animation I’ve ever seen in a mainstream animated film.
