There are many good things about writing your first draft out long hand. It reinforces engagement and connection with the work, helps focus, but also you will have proof positive that it's the work of a human, not AI. The biggest issue for me is where to put all the damn spiral notebooks.

Fan Sen’s words drew jeers and groans from the rest of the crowd. ‘How could you ask such a rude question, Fan Sen?’ chided another student. ‘Don’t you know that our marquess jiejie is already married?’

‘What?’ exclaimed Fan Sen, looking incredulous.

In her corner of the stage, Li Shan smirked to herself. There was no way Shen Ni would ever answer such an inane question, she was sure.

Shen Ni’s gaze flitted over the heads of the crowd and, amid the assembled stares of the audience, fixed itself firmly on Bian Jin. ‘I like sophisticated older women,’ she said. ‘Like my wife.’

Bian Jin found herself being suffocated by some emotion she’d never hitherto experienced. A strange ache was spreading through her chest — and following closely in its wake was the same delicious tingling sensation she’d felt the night Shen Ni had given her that full-body examination, the one that left her weak-kneed.

Bian Jin could not understand. Shen Ni clearly wasn’t touching her at all, yet that same unbearable heat was surging up within her. She wrapped her arms around herself, trying valiantly to suppress it; beads of sweat were already beginning to form on the tip of her nose. If Shen Ni were to measure her tactility score now, she was sure it would be close to one hundred and eighty.

And this time, the uncontrollable flush of heat had an edge of pain to it. Why do I feel like this? Bian Jin wondered. She was finding it almost impossible to look away from Shen Ni — Shen Ni, who had glided gracefully onto the stage with every eye in the audience fixed on her, rousing a wave of cheers. She had not, of course, caught sight of Bian Jin at the back of the crowd. So it was she, and not Prince Yong, whom the students had been speaking of in such admiring tones.

I am devastated. I just learned that Dolly has moved on. I know that millions are mourning and I want to say this - more than anyone I have ever known, Dolly will always be with us because she was so present, so powerful, so generous and playful that she is woven into all our lives and hearts forever. We have our memories of her, her songs, Dollywood, "9to5," the millions of books she got into the hands of children, all the iconic images that bring her to us. And they are all blessings. Let's be grateful for all that she has left us to ease our sadness now. I never knew anyone like her. She was simultaneously a naughty, playful southern gal from the hollows of
Tennessee and a deep, soulful thinker who could see through people right down to their true selves. She was many things...lyricist, songstress, player of many instruments, writer, prankster, visionary, loyal friend, who'd never go to bed before she and her friends had laughed so hard
they'd have to cross their legs.
She had a survivor's instinct and seemed to always know just what to do, just what to say, to make things right....and then she's stick her butt out the car window and moon Kenny Roger's home. She was the voluptuous embodiment of empathy. That's something of hers she'd want us all to take with us.
To her gay and trans fans, I want you to know that she loved you. You know that without me telling you. She loved all her fans and they are legion. And you know she doesn't want y'all to mourn now. Dress up and celebrate her spirit. But first, watch the final episode of Grace and Frankie where she's an Angel, the head honcho working class angel in Heaven.
RIP, beautiful woman. We love you.
