This is a shocking number, and may rise to the level of an atrocity crime if many of these deportees have been subject to abuse or effective statelessness.

One of the invisible chores of academia is conference paper reviewing. Presenting papers at conferences is an important step in producing publications, but is only possible when a knowledgeable community can assess and offer feedback on that work. Thanks to all the reviewers out there! #AERA2027

She Faced a Life-Threatening Miscarriage. Under Arkansas’ Abortion Ban, Even Calls to the Governor’s Office Didn’t Help.
Her case shows how abortion bans have left hospital lawyers, not doctors, deciding who gets care — and how lawmakers and regulators have failed to change that.

Sometimes, the least we can do is to NOT be a part of a bad thing. I stayed away from Exxon for decades after the Valdez spill. Avoided Walmart because of labor issues. Soured on Target and Spotify for ICE help. ChatGPT for planet-wrecking. X/Twitter for being full of hate. You all go on without me.
