Sarah Andersen says it all.
Comic strip: How I Spend Money

Panel 1 - Groceries shopping, wearing a striped top. Just the usual.
Panel 2 - Clothes shopping, wearing a striped top. An occasional splurge but mainly necessities.
Panel 3 - Household items, wearing a striped top. Whichever brands are cheapest.
Panel 4 - Books. She stands in a bookshop, dressed in a fur coat and wearing sunglasses and a dollar sign necklace. There is a pile of books on the counter.
Panel 5 - She throws lots of money into the air.

Last night, I gave my dad a pair of socks that I'd knitted for him. They were ostensibly for his birthday; he turned 80 this year and has been very grumpy about not wanting to celebrate it. Spouse and I stayed in a cottage in Cornwall with my parents a few weeks before his birthday.

'So that's the book finished. All you need now is a title.' 'I was thinking about calling it "DIE." 'Just DIE? Nothing else?' 'No. Why?' 'Hey don't get me wrong, it's a good title. I'm just not sure that it's clear enough that it means a MURDER story.' 'So what do you suggest...?'

This will always and forever be 5 stars. If you're looking for a fantasy story with an excellently explained magic system, necromancy, bells, and a grouchy cat??, I highly recommend. I also highly recommend the audiobook since it is read by the great Tim Curry and has a voice like a warm hug ❤️

September 2026 marks 360 years since the Great Fire of London which took place in September 1666. It also reminds us of that time we found a letter in the Archive dated 1661, sent from #Orkney to an address in Pudding Lane, London - the very place the fire began. 🔥

This is stunningly awful. When I was 17, I started university. When I was 19, I moved to Sweden for a year. My parents let me get on with it, no hovering, even though they were worried about their wee girl. I learned so much and grew into the adult I am and enjoy being. This poor lad is fucked.

The £72 m received by Reform UK from 2 billionaires is over 5 times the £14 m in private donations made to the SNP since the establishment of Holyrood in 1999. Democratic politics is not sustainable when the playing field can be warped in favour of the far right to such an extent by the super-rich.
