"Instead of researchers being questioned about their companies’ habit of plagiarizing academics’ work or using customer data to train models without consent, the public’s imagination is redirected to fears about what the future might hold upon the arrival of fictional superintelligent machines."

*except for the 122 (incl 87 in the tournament) I like better. But more importantly, the Best Album of 2001 brought new delights - these are 11 albums I'm happy to have discovered/rediscovered - the top 4 enough so to have bought a physical copy since. Thank you, @bestalbumbrackets.bsky.social !

Life Without Buildings - Any Other City, Basement Jaxx - Rooty, Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American, Le Tigre - Feminist Sweepstakes, Pete Yorn - Music for the Morning After, Jim O'Rourke - Insignificance, Squarepusher - Go Plastic, Thursday - Full Collapse, Blink 182 - Take Off your Pants and Jacket, Garbage - Beautiful Garbage, Spoon - Girls Can't Tell

Can Bob Stanley listen to every No 1 song from the noughties and escape with his sanity intact? He recalls a musical decade that ranged from the sublime to the very ridiculous

Realised the other day that I'd forgotten to include this absolute banger in my #TheN0ughtie5 list. Should have been there, maybe even with an 11. Not only that, but it seems that *nobody* has picked this, which is bizarre. Not only was it a bona fide pop hit (UK #1), it's a club classic. [1/4]
