It feels bloody ridiculous that in 2026, when a doctor at hospital B wants to see the imaging from an emergency MRI at hospital A, apparently the only way to do that involves invoking the DPA/GDPR and filing a subject access request and waiting for up to 30d www.cuh.nhs.uk/patient-priv...

Semi-related: There’s a concept we talk about in health care - particularly disability, mental health and aged care - known as Dignity Of Risk. Simply put, it’s about allowing someone opportunities to do things that might carry some degree of risk, and not coddle them bc of their age/disability.

I don't remember seeing an image of Earth before that captures the (thin, fragile, tiny layer of) atmosphere so clearly. I mean, look at that.
Zooming in on the photo of Earth taken by astronauts on Artemis II on their way to the Moon, you can clearly see the Aurora Borealis and thin layer of atmosphere wrapping around the planet.Zooming in on the photo of Earth taken by astronauts on Artemis II, you can clearly see the thin layer of atmosphere wrapping around the entire planet.

I'll just open the hellgates: look, there *is* an argument that for everyone who can now "make apps" thanks to agentic coding, SOME people will take a look at what's been generated out of curiosity for how it works and SOME of them will end up actually learning how to code... and that is good!

I will restate my modest proposal to save the BBC: ban the BBC from covering itself. Every BBC scandal goes huge, because every BBC News show wants to assert its independence by covering it prominently, even if several other shows already did. So it gets blanket headlines.
