Jenni Murray died yesterday. She was a BBC grandee, probably the TERF most responsible for the current onslaught on UK trans people. My BBC staffer friends tell me her influence kept trans positive voices off air for years, and ensured terf hate speech was uncritically platformed. Rot in hell.

The saddest part was the OP was a surrogacy baby who regretted not having the chance to experience a mother-daughter relationship. When more reasonable commenters pointed out that banning surrogacy wouldnt have helped her have that as she just wouldn't exist in the first place, she deleted the post.

I believe I read the original post being referenced on one of the support subs for children of adoption and surrogacy and the comments were full of anti-gay/"traditional family" rhetoric. It was a terrifying example of how conservatives seek out vulnerable groups to radicalize.

I think you're missing the fact that many progressives were critical of Harris's campaign BECAUSE we knew it was going to lose her the progressive vote and ultimately the election. People urging her to change course was not sabotage, it was the opposite. Harris sabotaged herself.

If you like the idea of lesbian superhero romance I strongly recommend the Heart of Heroes series (the first book being Scatter) by Molly J Bragg, the setting is intriguing, the cast of characters are varied and interesting, and it's one of the few series I've read that includes transbian protags.

I think if it was just something tragic that happened over the course of the film it would be different but the way it was specifically built up to be *the only solution* with Dafoes Van Helsing equivalent telling everyone it'll save the day just gave me the ick, could have used a rewrite for sure

***Ending spoilers*** I just couldn't get past the fact that the message of the film appears to be that a victim of CSA submitting to being SAd again in adulthood and subsequently killed by her abuser is both a heroic and necessary act to save her idiot husband.
