We can continue to hold Kotek accountable to address the state’s top issues, most of which are not unique to Oregon. I have had quite enough of GOP dumpster fires and my vote is as much about what I want to see more of as it is what I want to fucking avoid.

Re-learning how to do everything we normally do at home but without Jem is hard. She was everywhere. Wanted to be in every room we were in. I keep expecting to see her peep on me in the bathroom, crowd the sofa, hear her lil paws scurrying on wood floor.

This is the last photo I took with Jem, on Tuesday. I miss my couch companion. Her fur was so soft. She loved attention & I was usually more than happy to give it to her.

David called me from the vet with an impossibly hard decision: Jem needs to be put down. We can’t bear to see her in pain any more.

Jem’s condition worsened this afternoon and my partner is back at the emergency vet. Jem is on many pain meds and won’t stop crying. I feel sick not knowing what else we can do for her.

Give some love and comfort to our best girl, Jem. She’s been lethargic, shivering, panting and yelping and refuses to put weight on her front right paw. Never seen her in pain like this. Been waiting to be seen in lobbies of various clinics since yesterday afternoon.

Jem wishes to not be seen in her current condition and so here’s an image of her from a week ago.

My GI ordered Xifaxan. It is not FDA-approved to treat SIBO, so we're sending the prescription to a Canadian pharmacy to ship to me for $65. The website is sounding the alarm that after 10/22, that won't be possible anymore. A typical 14-day course of Xifaxan in the US costs $2,200 to $3,300.
