NEW: A glimpse at how AI image generators are used. Researchers set up a fake image editor on Hugging Face and within a week received 1,000 prompts. 73% of them were sexual and 83% of those were asking for people (women) to be “undressed”. Around 6% of the sexual requests also targeted minors

If I was a foreign adversary, I'd be happy that the UK govt is diverting money away from public infrastructure projects that keep people happy into military black holes. Easy to turn the British public against its government when everything is visibly falling apart.

In June 2024 Bloomberg ran an article about how China's LNG demand was "threatened." In that article they forecast that China's LNG demand would be in the mid 90s by the end of this year. Today they say they expect it to be in the low 60s.

Voters in Scotland and Wales today can vote in the knowledge that their parliaments will end up roughly in line with how the countries voted. A privilege not shared by voters in the English local elections, where First Past the Post continues to cause havoc.

As we see results of the local elections across England continue to come in, it’s clear that First Past the Post is failing voters – with some councils bearing little resemblance to how people actually voted. It doesn’t need to be this way. It’s time to scrap First Past the Post in England.

In Wigan, Reform won 96% of seats on 46% of the votes. In Westminster, the Conservatives won a majority on 35%, while @greenparty.org.uk won 18% of the votes without gaining a single seat. We can’t let this happen in 2029 The time to change the voting system is *now* @makevotesmatter.bsky.social

The silver lining of a generally scary Reform council seat surge is that we have 3 years to go until the UK general election and that leaves plenty of time for Reform councils to cause enough chaos to self-destruct as a party. I mean Labour managed to self-destruct in under two years after all.

The @labouruk.bsky.social is such a joke of a party. It spent the last two years cheering on Israel and the US as it bombs Palestine, Iran, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen. US bombers and surveillance drones still take off from UK bases. Labour should be the ones apologising for endangering lives in London
