The SEC has proposed eliminating the Order Protection Rule, but has said it will be fine because FINRA is there to enforce Best Ex. Do you think FINRA is enforcing best ex?! When was the last best ex case they brought? When the rules are unenforceable, we need to fix them.

Looks like the SEC is out to end the last vestige of protection for retail (and institutional investors) by proposing to rescind Rule 611 (Order Protection Rule). And to trust FINRA to police Best Ex. This will expose markets to more abuse and manipulation than ever.

The Trump administration doesn’t agree with the ban on the president and VP. Quite the business model they've come up with here.

It always boggles my mind that I, a journalist, am expressly forbidden from trading stocks, but members of Congress, with vastly greater knowledge of market-moving news, are allowed to profit by front-running markets, and so may profit by in essence stealing from the public they represent.

One of the ideas that has been floating around is that the market crash will be good for refinancing the massive government debt coming due this year. But yields have gone UP, which means Treasuries are being sold off. US reserve currency status cracking? China dumping? Either way, not good.

S&P closes down almost 5%, Nasdaq closes down almost 5.5%. Much worse is that they closed on the lows of the day. Very unlikely it gets better from here - market is still digesting what this means, how bad the inflation and GDP impacts will be, and what retaliation will ensure.

Russell 2000 is now down over 20% from its peak. Nasdaq is down 16.5%. S&P down 12.7%. Hard to see a reason why you want to buy the dip here.

I think invoking the CRA to remove the cap on overdraft fees is bad policy. Overdraft fees suck, and usually hurt those least able to pay them.
