The basic problem with social media is that the kind of people you'd want posting on it are generally the same kind of people who make a point of avoiding social media like the plague. You can see their point.

Ah dear, we have a bit of whataboutmeism and an undertow of latent misogyny going on with the Rachel Parris business already, I see. Take your resentment elsewhere, mate. Placed on final warning mute.

1962 - Dave Brubeck Quartet - Unsquare Dance I was about to cut out the first half of this, which is an odd kind of live commentary track over another DBQ record, but it's just a joy to see, so you'll need to skip to 2:00 to see Proto Legs & Co do their interpretive dance to Unsquare Dance.

I'm not really in a position to go to gigs any more but if you are then you ought to make time to go and see this performer. Looks like this is down to very poor promotion so let's try to fix that.

Given both Radios 1 and 2 seemed to be employing broadcasters yesterday who appeared to be struggling with basic English - because possessing intelligence is apparently elitist now - I doubt the situation will improve.

Actually the BBC don't give a toss. If they did they would hire people like me who have knowledge and expertise to offer. But I'm not a "hot" celebrity which is all anybody seems to be interested in any more.

They would also like to apologise for wasting public money, which they extract by force, to subsidise a service which is supposed to offer knowledge and authority.

Was Scottish film Till the Bell Rings the first ever 'talkie'?
In 1927, The Jazz Singer made movie history with the first recorded dialogue on film - but new evidence suggests the first feature talking film was Scottish.

6Music errs too much on the other side. If you come out of a doomladen 11:30 news bulletin people want to be reassured and cheered up by something they know, not anonymous off-the-peg indie album tracks masquerading as singles. Balance.

This is because politicians aim to appeal to mediocre and envious people who know their place and think people of independent thought are just showing the rest up. That itself acts as a mask for capitalism which essentially wants most people to be compliant serfs.
