DJNebulous @djnebulous.northsky.social · 16mYeah, they've dialed back a lot for some pretty good reasons. 110
DJNebulous @djnebulous.northsky.social · 17mHonestly one of my favorite bits in the whole show. Hattori Hanpei is a fun character. Shun Ueda, the actor, goes on to make various guest appearances in other shows including Kamen Rider Black, Ultraman Dyna, and Ryukendo and he's pretty fun in those too. 031
DJNebulous @djnebulous.northsky.social · 22mDoesn't everyone? I'm not sure it works right if you don't, lol 010
DJNebulous @djnebulous.northsky.social · 35mIt certainly looks like it hurt! The reason Jiro wears his helmet in a lot of the episodes is because the actor suffered a head injury during a stunt, so the set wasn't exactly the safest. 120
DJNebulous @djnebulous.northsky.social · 37mThey beat him by transferring the remainder of their power to Robin, the now Super Boy Wonder. 010
DJNebulous @djnebulous.northsky.social · 39mYou know how you see something as a kid and your brain remembers it as way creepier/cooler that it actually was? This was one of those episodes for me, lol. Also the cuffs and lasso are Wonder Woman's he's Composite SuperBat Woman Man 130

DJNebulous @djnebulous.northsky.social · 09/10/2026Starts episode 30 by giving Kaijo (the fighter pilot guy who already believes Gamu has a crush on him) a bouquet and yeah it's a deliberate misdirect, but also really cute? Followed by a Gan-q episode, which is fun. I love creepy eye guy kaiju Gan-q. 010

In the 70s, the Shaw Brothers saw how Tokusatsu like Kamen Rider and Ultraman was gaining popularity, and decided okay, we'll make our own Tokusatsu. To some extent I kind of wonder if this is kind of an inevitable outgrowth of the idea that knowledge or self awareness itself is somehow sinful. 140
