Our year in stats - July 2025 - June 2026

Layered behind this title is an image of lots of volunteers working through supplies in a warehouse, with a banner reading 'solidarity not charity' hung on the wall behind.

Below this are 4 key stats relating to DA's work in the 12 month time period

$1.55M worth of aid delivered
17 shipments across the US, Europe & Levant
1.72M items of aid delivered

Last Friday, Distribute Aid team members delivered a 90 minute workshop to grassroots organisations about how to source more aid for free for their projects!

The poster itself reads:
Aid Sourcing 101
September 18
6AM PT / 9AM ET / 1PM UTC

Join Distribute Aid for a 90-minute hands-on introduction to sourcing in-kind donations for your programs. Whether you're just starting to think about aid sourcing or looking to sharpen your outreach, this session walks through the full process: assessing what you need, building an outreach list, crafting a pitch that resonates with donors, and knowing when to say yes (or no) to an offer.

We were very happy to facilitate the donation of a pallet of toothpaste (that’s just about 10,000 travel-sized tubes!) earlier this month! The 10,000 tubes have gone from Ireland to @christianrefugeerelief in the Netherlands
A box of travel sized toothpaste tubes sits on a pallet of taped up cardboard boxes.

The dispenser section of the box is open, showing the toothpaste tubes inside. The box has the Colgate logo on, and text reading 'protect from future oral health problems'. The name of the product 'Total, active prevention' is also visible, surrounded by multicoloured wave designs.

What do ‘strong borders’ actually do for ordinary people? Our latest newsletter explores how borders are weaponised to scapegoat migrants, and why systems built to ‘protect’ by excluding others ultimately leave everyone more vulnerable.
On the right is an image of a refugee in Calais offering aid workers a cup of tea, holding a filled mug above a saucepan and ladle heated on a fire.

On the left, a quote from DA's newsletter reads "If you're an ordinary person... the truth is that no border works in your favor. A cage is a cage, and one day you too may find yourself on the wrong side. If that happens, your fate could be determined by the kindness and courage of ordinary people."

What’s it really like working in the humanitarian aid sector? In this month’s newsletter, we speak to Madi Williamson, executive director at Insight Collaborative - an organisation that trains humanitarian leaders around the world.
"Burnout in the humanitarian aid field is not like burnout in the corporate or academic setting. Lives are at stake, and mistakes can mean that people don't eat
(or worse)."

Next to the quote, a photo shows a person lifting cardboard boxes onto a wooden palette. The person is wearing pale blue jeans, a white and red jacket and a red beanie. Behind them, stacks of palettes and supplies suggest a busy warehouse setting.

Did you catch our newsletter this week? In it, we reflect on the word “Courage” which has been the leading theme of this year’s World Refugee Week. Should it require so much courage to reach safety? What about the courage required from us to stand up for what we believe?
The image has text on the left that reads: "Moria refugee camp, which was built to house around 3,000 people, had ballooned to a population of 15,000. Its conditions seemed unbearable—so we were struck by the dignity, creativity, and determination of the people we worked with there.

They shouldn’t have had to be so strong. The fact that they were doesn’t make the story of Moria less tragic, or galling. But if people who experienced such suffering could still fight to live full lives, what excuse do we have for not helping in any way we can?".

On the right, there's an image of a man folding donated shirts. He's wearing a blue t-shirt and a backwards baseball cap.
