Catching up on the LG TV privacy stuff. Holy crap I'm glad I've had mine blocked from the internet since I got it. I run AdGuard on my router, so tracking and ads (as best I can) are blocked on my entire home network. I just checked my AG dashboard and 92%(!!) of DNS lookups are for ads/tracking.

The grey plastic around the screen is a reproduction of the original, whose plastic shatters at the slightest knock. Unfortunately I only got one of them, but a 3D printed alternative is out there which I’m excited to try on the remains of the two other G3s I’ve got.

This iMac G3 DV has been a perpetual project for 6 years now. But I think I’m nearly there! Found a PAV board whose flyback is fine (phew!), but it’d keep shutting down when warmed up. Removed and tested a bunch of capacitors (all fine), so reflowed a bunch of solder joints around hot areas…

I tend to run a bit on the low side with my blood sugar — always have. I’ve got an odd trick for knowing when I should eat something: I notice my height. The first symptom just before feeling actively weird is that my head feels really fucking far from my feet. I’m 6’4”, so I *am* long, but… woah.
