In defiance of God, Nature, and the Mid-Twenties-Celsius-Temperatures, it is October and I am WEARING MY SNUGGLY OODIE WITH STARS AND PLANETS ON IT!
My gingery-white beardy chin and a little smirk, but mainly a thick snuggly oodie with the hood up. It has colourful stars and planets on it.

Watching @patrickhwillems.bsky.social‘s video on @nebula.tv about Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. As an avowed Chris, I wholly agree with this sentiment.
A photo of a frame of the video on my TV. Patrick is talking. The subtitle reads, “And really, what’s up with the name Topher?”Another frame, the subtitle reads: “Like, what’s wrong with Chris? It’s good enough for Nolan.”

Catching up on the LG TV privacy stuff. Holy crap I'm glad I've had mine blocked from the internet since I got it. I run AdGuard on my router, so tracking and ads (as best I can) are blocked on my entire home network. I just checked my AG dashboard and 92%(!!) of DNS lookups are for ads/tracking.
A screenshot of my AdGuard dashboard showing 780,862 DNS lookups, 717,018 of which were blocked because they were attempts to resolve ad and tracking services.

What did you do, Mother?! Fine. I grudgingly accept! Aww. This loveable bastard was deeply concerned when I changed a set of curtains.

This iMac G3 DV has been a perpetual project for 6 years now. But I think I’m nearly there! Found a PAV board whose flyback is fine (phew!), but it’d keep shutting down when warmed up. Removed and tested a bunch of capacitors (all fine), so reflowed a bunch of solder joints around hot areas…

I’m sorry, but what? 141 ROLLS?
The US accounts for more than
20% of global tissue consumption despite having only 4% of the world's population. The average American uses 141 rolls of toilet paper per year, making them No 1 for No 2s globally, just ahead of Germans, each using an average of 134 rolls annually.

I’m actually a bit chilly for the first time in months of 10° to 15° above-average temperatures. Glorious! And look at that low! 13°! 30°+ resumes on Sunday, so I’m enjoying this while it lasts.

Me, live-Teamsing my typographical thoughts during an all-hands meeting.
A screenshot of a teams message. It features a screenshot from the company presentation whose text is supposed to say, “Each team’s specialist disciplines at a glance”… but the kerning is utterly fucked to the point of inventing several new letters.

My message in the chat reads “the kerning on that text makes me want to puke”. It has a laugh-react.

Got the dog staying with me overnight. Love this handsome bastard to bits. He’s just so fucking sweet that he’ll make your chest ache. Sadly he’s only ever lived in a bungalow or a maisonette, so he’s got no idea about ‘going upstairs to bed’. So I remain cuddle-less.

More than a thousand of us have strayed too far from God.

Setting your 3D printer's LEDs to disco-mode is fun, but also terrible for seeing if your layers are going down well.
A frame from my 3d printer's camera. The lights I've got set up run WLED, and I've got it set to swirly-animated-rainbows. Which is fun, but the camera's struggling to show if the black layer that's being printed is actually smooth.

When I last needed a car 15-odd years ago, I drove a 2005 Kia Picanto. I routinely had 3 big burly adult passengers. We drove to the Lake District (5 hours or so away) multiple times. I’m 6’ 4”. Headroom was not a problem. It was fine.

Me too! One of Southeastern’s finest Class 465 Networkers. Hey, it’s old, but the seats are comfy. I think you need to work ‘Vertical Integration’ into as many conversations as possible, following it up each time with a confusing lascivious wink.

Reminded me of this nightmare fuel:
It’s a steam tank engine with Robocop’s un-helmeted face on the front, à la Thomas The Tank Engine. The face is pallid and hairless, with pipes from the engine entering the periphery of the face.

It’s all quite disturbing.

We really do. Aside from the cold/dark/damp or hot/bright/damp weather, we also drink because inebriation is the only socially-acceptable way for us to display An Emotion. (I kid, I kid. Good video, definitely gonna pick one or two of those up!)

I'll give Southeastern their due: the aircon on the new Class 707 trains actually works really well. No notes. Thanks! Annoyingly it'll probably be an old Class 376 on the way home which are pretty miserable in hot weather.
