I would reclassify Vance as a boyar and Hegseth as a vizier. Feels like our finance/tech class aligns with Boyars, and Hegseth is really only of significance via his appointment as a minister.

Trump actually has both malevolent boyars and scheming viziers, it’s tricky. Based on vibes: Vance: Vizier Hegseth: Boyar Miller: Vizier Lutnick: Boyar

They really do take it seriously. NHK reports on the cost of rice the way the US news reports on the price of gas.

(1/4) Denmark’s Armed Forces have released new details - and a photo - showing what happened when a Russian warship fired signal flares toward a Danish military helicopter. It began as a routine reconnaissance mission over international waters. 🧵

Thanks, this was a fun list. Went through the mental catalog of train lyrics I remember and “INRIhab” by Everytime I Die is a favorite that opens and closes on a train.

This is absolutely WILD. Here's the dashboard video posted by @fritschner.bsky.social. Fast forward to about 1 minute. An ICE officer jumps out of a van and pulls a gun on this woman immediately before lying and claiming she "almost ran us over." *profanity warning if watching in public.

This is very much mentioned in local news, same as when a casino or any other big project is up for consideration. There’s always a union supporting it. It’s not discussed because it’s a constant.

A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!

You will see fake Patriots asking, ‘Why aren't you ‘starting a revolution'?’ The revolution and the act of resistance are participating in your government and actually voting, showing up to council meetings, and writing to Congress. That's what a real rebel looks like.

I was acquainted with a farmer in GA who had their workers living in cinderblock houses with no A/C. Workers were forbidden from leaving the farm, “because they’d run away”. Operation Blooming Onion did not surprise me.

It helps tremendously with things like premeditation. It can prove when verbal commands like “stop resisting” are yelled at compliant victims to justify police violence. It can show if the victim was unlawfully detained prior to being killed or subjected to an illegal search. It helps build a case.

Quote from an article in Gizmodo: “Musk insisted backyard tomatoes weren’t as good as those you can buy from the store, but people still do it anyway.”

I’d love that but not optimistic until midterms. The most gob smacking and depressing part of the last 18 months has been seeing congress pantomime an inability to restrain the malice and idiocy coming from the entire executive branch.
