There's a prison revolt at a concentration camp in Texas in solidarity with Minneapolis:

Jazmine Ulloa

Hundreds of immigrant mothers and children detained at a South Texas facility on Saturday protested the killing of a 37-year-old man in Minneapolis, chanting "Let me out" and "Libertad," or "Liberty," according to an immigration lawyer who witnessed the demonstration.

Eric Lee, the lawyer, said he had been waiting for his client in the visitation area of the family detention center in Dilley, Tex., when detention officials abruptly asked him to leave. Once outside, he peered through a chain-link fence and saw hundreds of women and children walking out of the facility and chanting in protest.

Lee said his client later told him on the phone that he and other detainees were outraged over the latest killing in Minneapolis and the detention of Liam Conejo Ramos, the 5-year-old boy from Ecuador detained with his father in Minneapolis and sent to Texas.

I'm sure most people here are self aware to figure that this app not the most useful for political activism and that it's a bubble. I did, considering that I'm just using it just to look and hopefully post art. Any political action at this point has to be in local communities offline.

Trying to get back into reading, but with time limits. These are from my local library, and I'm trying to read before having to renew them, which is easier said than done 📚💙

Book cover to Terry Practchett Equal Rites. The cover has two people, an adult in a white silhouette holding the shoulders of a small girl in a black silhouette, who is holding a staff with glowing orange-yellow runes on top.

Book cover for Heather Fawcett Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries, Book 1 of the Emily Wilde Series. The cover depicts a border of flowers and fungi bordering the book title, with four circles on each corner holding tree branches and one circle near the center holding a pair of long, clawed hands.

Book cover for Naomi Novik His Majesty's Dragon. The cover depicts a large black dragon with blue spots on its wings, tail curling along the book title text, flying above the sea where a ship is sailing.

Gobblekins wins Cat of the Day two days in a row because she can’t stop being a beautiful flower in her flower pot!😹 I don’t know why this is her new favorite spot!😹 Also, I saw a couple of LARGE birds I hope are ravens! I know it’s (literally!) a long shot, but what do you all think?

Shorthair orange cat sitting upright in her flower pot, looking at you absentmindedly, wondering why you haven’t brought her fancy feast yet.

Bugs black bird in a tree. Maybe a raven?

Even sharks love a chill beach day in their own jawsome style! 🌴🦈✨ Some sketches I tried to make of my silly shorks ~ 🌊🦈 #art #sharks #sharkfolk

Roller Shark Time! 🦈✨

Sharks Also do Rollerskating at the Beach ~ 🌴✨

Another sketch of my Sharkfolk. Roberto, the great hammerhead shark, likes to roller skate while being inspired by a good soundtrack. 🎶✨

Ride Shark Time! 🚲🦈✨

Aria, the zebra shark, is out with her friends (books) for a reading day at the beach park! 📚✨

---

I really struggled with this… trike? And in Aria's anatomy, it's not ideal, but I hope it's convincing enough.

The books she's carrying are probably anthropology books about human civilization, which is her hyperfocus. These musty books were probably some of the few her mother rescued from the great library of Reeftown that was destroyed by Typhon Storm.

Skate Shark Time! 🛹🦈✨

This is Tiago, the tiger shark on a day of skateboarding!
