French PT EP and The Beano Book 1979? That’s my idea of a decent secondhand score! Great buncha tracks

There are hundred and hundreds. Same with Todd the other week when he said Taylor Swift is rubbish. Literal thousands of people typing ‘Todd who!?’ *rofl face emoji*

Oh man… I see these people on reddit all the time and they are such an odd bunch. Acting like they are keepers of the sacred scrolls. I’d mute ’Beatles’ from my personal internet if I could, I knew enough about them when I was 15.

Also: I wasn’t the only gargantuan guitar nerd to email a complaint to the production company when they showed some absolute hack spoke shaving the neck of a 1960s Fender Jazz Bass.

Next release is coming, and it’s a beauty. Dan makes ambient techno now, but two decades ago he made music to rival John Martyn and Nick Drake. As with every Unspun release, it’s a vinyl debut for this album. You won’t be disappointed.

#new2me26 The Genesis - A Story By The Genesis This is amazing. An unreleased (very) English concept album from 1969. Really hoping that @dimorphodons.bsky.social can chip in with the full mad story. It's very much in the S.F. Sorrow neck of the woods and deserves so much love.

Thank you! It’s been really fun to work on - more to come next year. There’s some really amazing stuff by Chris Stokes and a rotating cast of local stoners from 69-74.

Summer 68, finished it and… just sat on the tapes til I happened to meet one of them on ebay. The maddest thing to me is that they recorded it at a forerunner to SRT who did so many private pressings…if they’d have just pressed fifty copies or so it would have been one of *those* crazy rarities

Thanks Nick! It’s really quite an ambitious project for an unsigned, managerless local group I think. I think the bassist came up with the idea, whether he’d read Pete Townsend spilling the beans about Tommy and thought ‘we can do that!’ or not I don’t know, but they worked on it from

Turns out it’s not that complicated after all, it goes like this 1/ Selling platform charges the customs fees upfront with original purchase 2/ That money vanishes, so we pay it again out of our meagre share 3/ The customer then pays the fees again when it arrives.

Someone really looked at the tried and tested system of sticking a stamp and a customs form on a record before posting it to the EU and said no, let’s replace it with something that takes 8 hours per package to figure out.

A group of young ‘cool’ religious people came to sing god pop songs, and one of them did a speech about how before she found religion she used to sleep around a lot and smoke weed, and the entire room erupted in a massive cheer.

The Oxenham Arms pub in South Zeal, Devon, boasts the unusual distinction of having been constructed around two prehistoric standing stones. If you’re lucky and visit at the right time of day, as I did, you might also see the smaller of the two being recharged with sacred energy by the sun.
An ancient standing stone replenishes itself with the moorland winter sun, in a the dining room of a pub where I found out, to my disappointment, non-cash payments of under £10 are not permitted.

That’s pretty good. Things that make it tougher are that inexplicably Ed seems to have young fans, and that it’s almost impossible to think of someone else with such unmemorable songs

Back to the drawing board! It’s surprisingly difficult, Ed is so bland it’s like his songs only exist at the exact moment you’re hearing them.

Our pleasure! One of my favourite things about this release is that no one knows who sang Window Shopping. Jacksons advertised a ‘pop song workshop’ so some guy showed up, got given a Genesis song to record with them backing, then they got to cut another track in exchange.
