This is from Danny Trejo’s daughter. I couldn’t figure out how he got involved with it. Looks like Shapiro duped Trejo, which isn’t surprising. I won’t watch the movie

If you are part of an academic society or a professor of any kind, public statements that you do not condone Drexel cutting off the academy of natural sciences from the public of Philadelphia is very important right now. We need your voices. Urgently.

Visited the Academy of Natural Sciences museum in Philadelphia to see the place one last time before it closes. Was inspired to create this ghostasaurus based on the museum’s Hadrosaurus exhibit.

Visited the Academy of Natural Sciences museum in Philadelphia before it permanently closes. Got to see the bones of Hadrosaurus, the first semi-complete dinosaur scientifically studied in North America.

Even if the protest doesn’t save the museum, it’ll still have a ton of other benefits like bringing together like-minded people, creating a boiling pot of ideas. I have no doubt a lot of progress will come out of this in unexpected ways.

Is there an address for the mayor we can send letters to? What about the people in charge of the Museum at Drexel? I’m not sure how the administrative politics work there and who is in charge of what.

It is unacceptable for a world-class city like ours to allow its major natural history museum to close. We cannot allow it. My statement ⬇️
The text of Senator Saval's statement on the closure of the Academy of Natural Sciences museum. The words are in white on a blue background. Senator Saval's image is in the lower-right corner.

"For nearly two centuries, the museum of the The Academy of Natural Sciences has been the physical embodiment of a commitment to public natural history education. I was outraged to learn of the plans for its closure, both as a long-standing member of the museum and as an elected representative committed to the health and vitality of Philadelphia. It is unacceptable for a world-class city like ours to allow its major natural history museum to close.

The mismanagement of such a treasured asset is a profound insult to the residents of the city and to the incomparable workers and curators at the museum. We cannot allow it." The text of Senator Saval's statement on the closure of the Academy of Natural Sciences museum. The words are in white on a blue background.

"This museum is a place where generation after generation first became enthralled with our world, and as we face the enormity of the climate crisis and an unprecedented loss of biodiversity, the continuation of the museum’s legacy of marvel and care for the natural world has never been more urgent. Partners from all levels of government must unite in our efforts to see this vital work continue."

This sucks so much. The Academy Museum was where I saw the first semi-complete dinosaur skeleton in the world (Hadrosaurus). Haven’t been there in years but I’d been meaning to take a trip back eventually.

A fuzzy Dilophosaurus at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut. Possibly inspired by the famous “sitting Anomoepus” track from the Connecticut Valley which may show feather impressions. Also possibly based on Dyzio, a feathered Dilophosaurus model at the Geological Museum at Warsaw.

These photos popped up in my FB feed so thought I’d reshare them here. This was a dinosaur track scavenger hunt I designed for the Connecticut Science Center to go along with a dinosaur exhibit. Fossil footprints are abundant in the Connecticut Valley and I like making more people aware of them.

Drew one of my favorite alien designs, the being from the original ending of Disney’s 1980 gothic ghosty story film “The Watcher in the Woods”. The reshot ending of the theatrical release depicted the Watcher as a column of light, but the original alien puppet is waaay cooler.

A slightly late entry for Goblin Week. Made to express my frustration at white supremacist losers using Mac Tonight as a mascot for their racist rap albums, and thus making me feel uncomfortable about using moon-headed creatures in my fantasy artwork. (It’s, uh, a bit of a niche frustration.)

First post for Goblin Week 2026! Here’s a little dude based on the clothing moth Tineola bisselliella. I think Tineola is super cool because it’s descended from moths that feed on keratin-rich bits from mammal carcasses like fur and horns- parts that other scavengers don’t eat.
