A lot of people assume we'll start decarbonizing once things calm down. We need a new pipeline now, but hey, once things are better, we can focus on the environment. But things are never gonna calm down. The world is going to get more chaotic every year because we didn't decarbonize decades ago.

The fires in Ontario - like so many others - demonstrating viscerally how climate change perpetuates the displacement and dispossession of Indigenous peoples, who have least contributed to emissions and over and over again put their bodies on the line to prevent fossil fuel development.

One of the quiet bright moments of lockdown was Sam Neill serenading us on the ukulele. This type of tenderness feels rare nowadays, how lucky we were. Thank you for everything. ❤️❤️❤️

Memo to the global community: Canada has officially abandoned climate action. PM Carney has systematically dismantled all the insufficient policy we had in place. A clear-eyed and devastating piece by my brother, @sethdklein.bsky.social. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Solar’s price drop is astonishing: panels are now 98% cheaper than when I first analyzed them in 2004. Today, building a fence with solar can be cheaper than using wood.
