Got really carried away making my Pentiment layoff protest sign for the Irvine CWA rally outside Obsidian offices today 🥹 it was so nice to meet folks from more Microsoft units. You all put so much heart and passion and craft into making video games. You all deserve so much better.

Traditionally illustrated poster drawn in the woodcut-style of the Obsidian developed video game Pentiment. Behind him is a mass of shadowy figures with dozens of swords over their heads or stabbing into their collapsed bodies.

It is captioned “Death by 1600 cuts”, a reference to the 1600 Xbox workers laid off by Microsoft on July 6 2026 (this also includes many Obsidian devs). The ‘T’ in “Death” is the executioner’s blade. There is gold embellishing on the font.
