Thanks 🍰. I made the banana loafs and my colleague made very tasty chocolate chip cup cakes. The mini rolls were mini Colin the Caterpillars from M&S.

I ran a coffee morning to raise money for @macmillancancer.bsky.social today. Thank you so much to colleagues in @abercompsci.bsky.social for their kind donations and for their contributions to the food. As well as online, the offline brings this to over £220 so far. This all goes to helping… 1/2

Breaking News! The preliminary Nino 3.4 sea-surface temperature anomaly for Sept. 29th came in at 3.18°C above the 1991-2020 baseline. This marks yet another record all-time high and the 123rd consecutive record daily high at 1.1°C above the previous daily record set in 1997.

Whilst making a second banana bread this evening, I thought that the mixture seemed much more loose than the first one I made only 1h earlier. Hmm.. too much milk? I did guess at that measure. Maybe more flour? Looking at my prepared ingredients … adding the flour I had weighed would help :-)

It may take years before we know the answer, but there are issues that society needs to understand about the introduction of new technology.

This is a fun podcast on BBC Sounds. They take 5 tracks per episode & look at a link from one to next, and links continue between programmes. Music, discussion & learning about music techniques. Beyond my musical knowledge, but interesting to listen to and learn www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/brand...

45th anniversary of Raiders of the Lost Ark. that number must be wrong. Utterly silly film, with great pace and lots of fun. Haven’t seen it for a few years. Only on limited release this week. Find it in the biggest screen you can.

Silo is a series on Apple TV. It is excellent. Series 3 just ended (super build and payoff) and final series is out next summer. You don’t need an Apple device to watch - a common misconception. Available like any other streaming platform. tv.apple.com/gb/show/silo...

To boldly sit still? This is an interesting article on the state of two long running franchises / series. Disappointing that Star Trek has no announced plans in its 60th anniversary year. May both Star Trek and Doctor Who find bold new directions soon.

Give us a call. We're a friendly, kind university in a lovely town by the sea. And I'm not just saying that because I happen to work here - I studied here, and this place looked after me. There's nowhere like it.
