Alex DiFeliceantonio @difeliceantonio.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I don't think you are being genuine, here. I gave you the nutrition information. You can verify it. I don't think this is productive. Again, my only ask is to not misrepresent what we did. 000
Alex DiFeliceantonio @difeliceantonio.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Again, you have your own thoughts on how this study should have been run. You are welcome to them. You can run your own. I only asked that you did not misrepresent what we did. I pointed out calling it a "glass of water" was a misrepresentation. 000
Alex DiFeliceantonio @difeliceantonio.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Again, the framing of the study is identical nutrition information. So, here is the nutrition information. It is similar. You just said the energy density didn't match and we had to give participants a "glass of water." This is not true. 100
Alex DiFeliceantonio @difeliceantonio.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Harldy "kloodgy." You've made your viewpoint on UPF clear, and that's fine. But don't misrepresent what we did. 000
Alex DiFeliceantonio @difeliceantonio.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Becuase that was not our hypothesis. We wanted a broad range of foods so you could generalize across the category, not so you could make an inference about bread or peanut butter alone. We can all suggest a million studies but time and resources are limited. 100
Alex DiFeliceantonio @difeliceantonio.bsky.social · 06/10/202612mls of water is 12grams. The total meal weight was 156 grams. So, 156-12=144. 304/144 (energy density is kcals/g)=2.1. The MPF ED was 1.9. So, is your argumet a 0.2 difference in energy density is responsible for all of the effects? 200
Alex DiFeliceantonio @difeliceantonio.bsky.social · 06/10/2026In the limitations of the paper we note we need additional follow up studies. But, we set out to test if foods classied as UPF under the Nova system with near identical nutrition information as non-UPF evoked a similar metabolic response. And we tested and reported on that outcome. 100

Alex DiFeliceantonio @difeliceantonio.bsky.social · 04/06/2026It gives us good data for something we had more spotty data on before, but that was kind of intuitive, that not all foods have equal addictive potential. So, when we are discussing potential risks and harms, we can narrow our scope to foods with certain nutrient profiles. 6/7 100
Alex DiFeliceantonio @difeliceantonio.bsky.social · 04/06/2026For the NDSR variables we see glycemic load, carbs, and energy density. Not a big surprise for anyone, I know. So what does this mean? 5/7 100
Alex DiFeliceantonio @difeliceantonio.bsky.social · 04/06/2026We used two inputs, the nutrients on the back of your nutrition label and all nutirent variables in the output for NDSR. Alex DiFeliceantonio @difeliceantonio.bsky.social · 04/06/2026We found some patterns in nutrients across the rated addictiveness tertiles, but food is complicated and nutrients can interact in different way. So, we turned to random forest modeling. 3/7 100

Alex DiFeliceantonio @difeliceantonio.bsky.social · 02/05/2026But we did see effects in younger people and as we are learning what aspects of the food could be risk factors we can’t ignore what PEOPLE might be most vulnerable to health effects, and it seems like younger people could be especially susceptible. /7 100
