My background is in Biology and Ecology. I spent years studying the diversity of life. How sad that we openly celebrate the diversity of the natural world, but (as a society) find it so difficult to see the inherent beauty in neurodivergence. In the diversity of our own species.

Listening to a parent today describing her 7yr old as 'strong willed' and needing firm boundaries... in response to kiddo 'refusing' to go to bed because of monsters. When did we forget that children are humans too? Poor kid just needs to feel safe.
