Finally got to see Cabaret Voltaire in Belfast on Thursday night. Amazing - if you get the chance don't miss it.

Embarrassed to confess that I am a late discoverer of @robynhitchcock.bsky.social - still in the shallows of his amazing back catalogue. Saw him in Belfast on Thursday night. Charming, engaging and an electric performer. If you get the chance to see him don't miss it.

The night Belfast burned: how the Northern Ireland race riots unfolded
A stabbing in June sparked another summer’s night of racial violence, stoked by loyalist groups. How did the unrest erupt – and why do many fear it will happen again?

In todays Sunday World, I spoke of the racial violence in East Belfast. I welcome the PSNI now stating Loyalist paramilitaries were involved. Stormont has questions to answer, this was the 3rd year in the row of racial violence in NI. The community sector stood up, when Stormont went missing again.

If you have friends who are from ethnic minority communities in Belfast, check in on them this evening. What is unfolding across parts of Belfast is wrong, stoked up by English nationalists with no interest in this city. As well as some local politicians to cover their own failures.

For lack of self awareness and hypocrisy Nicholas Ashley-Cooper (12th Earl of Shaftesbury) takes some beating. Pity he can't show the same concern for Lough Neagh (he "owns" the lake bed) as he does for streams on his English estate. (Source HTSI, FT, 28 March 2026). @greenpartyni.org

I’ve submitted a Freedom of Information request to DAERA about the ongoing pollution incidents at the Cregagh Glen river. These incidents keep happening with little action being taken. This is indicative of the failure of DAERA, and Alliance Minister Andrew Muir, to take water pollution seriously.

There are 2 BTL comments after the Graun's Oasis live review. One makes the Baudrillardian point that Oasis never really existed (true). The other says that people just really really like Oasis ( also true). These two points sum it all up for me: Oasis don't exist and people really really like them.
