'Each time a woman is not listened to is another brick in the wall of medical misogyny.' This International Women’s Day, Deborah Fenney explores the impact of medical misogyny on women’s health and care. Would you call yourself a feminist? Read the full blog: bit.ly/47fs9vm
I grew up in a context where ‘feminist’ was a dirty word, for women who hated men and didn’t look after their appearance. It wasn’t until my late 20s that I embraced it as a term that meant being part of the fight for gender equality. And working in health care policy, I see even more the need to talk about protecting and advancing women’s rights. - Deborah Fenney

I'll tell you what does drive people to despair: money worries. The idea that you can improve someone's mental health by giving them more money worries should be an obvious mistake of thinking. But it isn't. Because years of right wing rhetoric has made it impossible to see people's needs clearly

I see this quite a lot. Don’t confuse healthcare equity with health equity. Don’t use these terms interchangeably. The first is only a small part of the second. Health is largely shaped outside of healthcare by factors outside of the health service.
