Am I missing something with the new NHS priorities? The only reference to people with learning disabilities is a reduction in mental health inpatient stays? Really? Have I just travelled back 30 years? Nothing about poor general health that causes people to die almost 30 years early? Health checks?

I was raised on homeopathy as a child. As an adult I work to promote evidence-informed practice. We can ‘unlearn’ deeply held beliefs. Engaging with science helps… 👇🏼

Foster care is at a critical crossroads. We need urgent reform: 1. Better financial support for foster carers. 2. A rebalancing of power and respect between social workers and foster carers. 3. Systemic changes, including portability of foster carers’ approval, to grant carers more autonomy.
