RIP and PIP, Prime Minister. Reprimand in Private. Praise in Public. Civil servants work tirelessly to deliver for us. They don’t always “get” frontline services, but they do ask delivery experts. Get your house in order privately. Support your team publicly. Empower them to deliver with pride.

Foster care is at a critical crossroads. We need urgent reform: 1. Better financial support for foster carers. 2. A rebalancing of power and respect between social workers and foster carers. 3. Systemic changes, including portability of foster carers’ approval, to grant carers more autonomy.
