Good morning from my front yard where there's a flock of house finches having Russian sage seeds for breakfast and a squirrel rummaging around the flower bed. The sage is not very sturdy so the birds wobble a lot when they land, it's very funny. The cat is entranced.

I'm not even mad I had to spend too much money on a hotel because there's some giant rowing regatta in Boston this weekend, this is my view. I can watch planes take off from the airport over the water.

In truly ridiculous writing process news, my novel brainstorming doc has just crossed 60,000 words. The novel draft itself is 66,000 words. This doc is not even the only doc I have ever done any brainstorming for this book in. 🤷

Had a dream my mother and I were running from a guy in an elaborate Cupid costume through a palace. We tried to hide in a gardening class in a very fancy conservatory, where @wiswell.bsky.social had a cameo as a gardening student. The palace was very pretty, my dream brain has good taste.
