Star-born Seren has been gone for a year and a day, conscripted as all Celestine eventually are to track the cosmos for signs of a legendary devourer of worlds. When she returns home, her wife Edera couldn't be happier... until Seren confesses that she herself has seen the World Devourer's return and that, because of this, she must be the one to stop it. Unwilling to allow them to be separated again, Edera decides to join Seren on her journey across their drowned world in a harebrained effort to save it. Now, as darkness looms in the fringes and a strange rot afflicts the world they love, they will have to race across the raging see to keep their world from being consumed.

But just what is it that lies at the end of this mission? And how can they stop a force so much larger than themselves?

Edera has spent her whole life on the island of il-Zedina, aware of the larger world but unable to explore it. Until recently, she did not have the means to actualize said goals. Though not the most ideal circumstances, her star-born wife’s impossible quest may be just what Edera needs to find her true purpose and learn who she is as an individual, not just as the woman who married a star.

The second character, Seren, has pale white skin, pale long hair, long tapered ears, and pupil-less opalescent eyes. A unicorn horn spirals out of her temple. She is wearing a halter top and a shawl.

SEREN

Seren is a Celestine, a race of being descended from the stars. Because of this heritage, she is tasked as all Celestine are with tracking the cosmos for the return of a mythological world-devourer. Upon witnessing its return, it falls to her to put a stop to the otherworldly force. No matter how badly she wishes to delay the inevitable, she knows duty always makes itself known one way or another.
